San Jose, incorporated in 1850, is the largest city in Northern California and serves as the cultural, political, and economic center of Silicon Valley. With a 2022 population of approximately 971,233, it ranks as the third-most populous city in California and the 13th in the United States. 

Known as the "Capital of Silicon Valley," San Jose hosts major tech companies such as Cisco Systems, eBay, Adobe Inc., PayPal, Broadcom, and Zoom.
